The added value of cassava

Cassava is one of the most cultivated crop in Cameroon, its nourishing value is felt internationally and it is used to produce bobolo, garri and starch. Cultivating and transforming cassava for sales is a productive business stratagem.
CULTIVATE: The roots and leaves of cassava say it all in discerning the sweet from the bitter during selection. It takes about 6 to 8 months to cultivate cassava depending on the area.
TRANSFORM: It is possible to obtain diverse products from cassava. So, thing big and know that they exist local industries that are able to conceive and realize tools to suit your need like crushing mill, driers, peelers, cutters….
SALES: The national market of starch is estimated at 350-400 tons/year and sold for 500-550/kg. 100kg of cassava can produce 47kg of bobolo and 38kg of garri sold for 17,625 FCFA and 17,100 FCFA respectively.
